The Fleetwood Assassin
The Fleetwood Assassin chronicles Jane Couch’s amazing life of firsts. A working-class girl from a small fishing town in England, Jane scaled the heights of boxing to become a five-time world champion.
At a time when it was illegal for women to box, Jane fought the male patriarchy in Britain’s highest court and changed the face of boxing forever. She was the first woman to be granted a professional boxing license in the UK, the first woman to have a professional fight in the UK, and the first British woman to be inducted into the Boxing Hall of Fame.
Through interviews and archival footage, “The Fleetwood Assassin” takes us deep into Jane’s story, as she reflects on key points in her life and her legacy.
